The Driggs City Council held a meeting on July 7th and on the agenda was the selection of a location in Driggs for the new Aquatic/Recreation Center. Doug Self, Community Development Director, summarized the pros and cons of the two top sites and provided the project team’s unanimous recommendation. The City Council’s vote was also unanimous in support of the site selection. The recommended site that the City has pursued is near the corner of 5th Street and Ski Hill Road.
Since the meeting, the city and our project team met with the land owners, Ball Ventures, and they have agreed to DONATE the land to the city! We still have to work through the land use permitting, but the "handshake" agreement from Ball Ventures is there.
I hope that this news will inspire and reignite excitement around a future aquatics facility and the work that Teton Valley Aquatics has done to get us this far. We need continued financial support from you and our community to Help Keep Us Afloat as we continue on in support of our mission!
Donate to TVA through the Tin Cup Challenge by Friday, July 24th so your donation can receive a match from the Community Foundation! Thank you for your support and we look forward to sharing more exciting news and progress with you!
