2023 Summer Swim Instructors Hiring

Teton Valley Aquatics is hiring Swim Instructors for our summer pool program. This position is a W9 Independent Contractor position and is based in Driggs, Idaho. 

Position Dates: June 9th (Orientation) & June 12th- August 24th (Instructing)

Responsibilities: 

- Responsible for instructing swim lessons to all ages/levels which could range from 6 mo-adults, Levels 1-5, and include inclusive lessons.

- Maintain a safe and controlled environment

- Communicate regularly with participants and their parents

- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students 

- Complete reports on student progression. 

- Act in a professional manner at all times. 

- Provide quality customer service.

- Punctual when reporting for duty, shows up no less than 10 minutes prior to the start of a class. 

Qualifications: 

- Experience teaching swim lessons to young children preferred

- Experience working with young children in a paid/volunteer capacity required.

- Current CPR/First Aid certification AND current or expired American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification required. 

- Must obtain certifications by June 12, 2023

- Must be 16 years or older to receive WSI certification

- Must clear a criminal history background check

- Spanish speaking skills and special needs teaching experience are a major plus. 

Work Environment and Physical Demands 

- This position is performed in outdoor weather conditions. 

- Ability to walk, sit, stand, and lift over 25 pounds. 

- Must be comfortable in a pool (heated to 80+ degrees) for 2-4 hours at a time

Benefits: 

- $20/hour for 7-33 hrs/week

- Reimbursement of 2023 CPR/First Aid and WSI Courses if work through August 24th

- 3 day weekends guaranteed, pool is closed Friday, Saturday, and Sunday

- Optional break weeks: June 30th-July 9th and/or July 28th-August 6th
