• Partnering with the City of Driggs and the community of Teton Valley to optimize resources for designing, building, and operating a successful aquatic facility. Thus building a healthier community through the power of water.

Our Vision is fulfilling the dream of year-round aquatic access for Teton Valley.

  • Teton Valley Aquatics was formed in 2016 in response to community support and the need for an organization to take the lead in pursuing the dream to have an aquatics facility in Teton Valley. The 2014 Teton County, Idaho Recreation Master Plan showed the top priority of survey respondents was for a Community Recreation Center, with 93% of those respondents stating the most important feature would be an indoor swimming facility. Teton Valley Aquatics has since partnered with the City of Driggs to bring this needed facility to life. In the last seven years, TVA has worked from the ground up establishing relationships around our community to build the framework that is needed to pursue a project of this size.

In 2019, we completed a feasibility study identifying the options for our future facility. In 2020, we evaluated eight locations within the Driggs City limits and selected a final site near 5th St and Ski Hill Road. In 2021, donation of land for the future facility was completed to the City of Driggs, and in 2023 conceptual design for the facility began.

While investing time and energy into the work towards a year-round aquatic facility, beginning in 2021 we also a summer pool program. Running a seasonal above ground pool which offers swim lessons and adult activities to the community. Beyond that, our programming also includes water safety education and Life Jacket Loaner Stations, engaging over 500 community members annually.

  • Our community currently lacks access to a year-round, indoor, water safety program. Drowning is the leading cause of death in children ages 1-5, and Idaho ranks 2nd in the country for the highest rate of these deaths. Learning to swim early on reduces this risk by 88%.

From a health and wellness perspective; aquatic exercise and therapy is one of the best forms of exercise for flexibility, joint health, cardio and strength training and balance in a low-impact environment.

The facility also has an opportunity to serve as a community anchor, with an opportunity for diverse program offerings all while creating jobs and keeping this income resource in our community.

Hear it from Our Community

“We believe in the mission of Teton Valley Aquatics. Our hope is that our gift will inspire others to give to the project for a year round aquatics facility in our valley.”

— John & Jeanine Cushman

“Whether for teaching children the life skill of swimming, for critical therapy for the injured, or for good clean fun, an aquatic center will fill many needs, and serve a broad range of our community members. The City of Driggs is pleased to partner with Teton Valley Aquatics to bring this dream to life for the people of our community.”

— Hyrum Johnson, Former Driggs Mayor

“We are so grateful for TVA! My daughter wanted to learn to swim so bad… TVA made it easy, affordable, and possible! What a blessing TVA is to our family and our community! We hope and pray this valley will support a year round aquatic facility soon so more can enjoy and benefit from it's presence.

— Sarah and Esther Benko

“We moved to the valley in 1985… The valley has needed a pool always for the safety and education of all of our children and the well being of all who live here… For a community focused on recreation and physical fitness as we are, a pool would be an essential piece for everyone’s benefit.”

— Jan and Don Betts
